3 次の英文は, 南中学校に通う瑠美 (Rumi) が学生ダンス競技会 (the Students' Dance
'Competition) について, 得点の表 (Table) を作り, 英語の授業で発表したときのものです。
1~3の問いに答えなさい。
I'm on the school dance team. We had the Students' Dance Competition last
Saturday, and eight dance teams from the junior high schools and high schools in
our city performed. We didn't think we could win the dance competition, but we
came in third overall. Please look at this table. It shows the scores of the top
three dance teams. Igawa High School got the best score of the three teams for 5
dance technique, but they came in second overall. They danced very well, but
they didn't smile enough. They needed more expression. In contrast, Heisei High
School didn't get a high score for dance technique, but they got 86 points for
dance expression. They were dancing with smiles. I enjoyed their dancing. To
my surprise, we got better score than Heisei High School for dance expression.
We started practicing for the dance competition two months ago. We practiced
after school and on weekends to win the dance competition.
We enjoyed
dancing at first, but a month ago, we didn't enjoy it. When we were dancing,
our English teacher, Mr. White, came to us and said, “Enjoy dancing! Relax

dancing.' We found we didn't enjoy dancing. We practiced only to win the
competition, and we forgot the most important thing.
On the day of the dance competition, we danced with big smiles and got a
