10 次の英文は, 中学生の Satoshi が, 最も尊敬する人物について行ったスピーチ
です。これを読んで, 後の(1)~(4)の問いに答えなさい。 〔3点×7]
Who do you respect the most? I respect my aunt. Today, I want to talk
about her.
She is thirty-eight years old and she is very kind. She works at the city
hospital as a nurse. She is a good nurse. When she was a student, she
visited many other countries. She helped a lot of people there. Still
now, she sometimes goes to other countries as a volunteer and helps sick
people. She often tells me about problems in those countries. Her
stories are interesting. After her stories, she always say, “What do you
think about those problems? Tell me your ideas. Thinking deeply about
them is important.” If I tell her a wrong or different answer, she doesn't
*reject it. I like her because she listens to my ideas crefully.
She speaks English very well. She says, “I was not good at English, so
I studied it hard every day. I also tried to talk with a lot of people in
English. It wasn't easy, but I didn't give up. Now, I enjoy talking with
people in English. If you speak English well, you can get more chances in
the future.” I'm not good at English, so she often teaches it to me. She
is a good English teacher for me.
For these reasons, I respect my aunt. These days, I work as a volunteer
in our city. For example, I pick up *litter around the station with other
volunteers. There is a lot of litter around there. I also study English and
math hard for the future. I want to be a doctor to
my aunt.
