Atter finishing her training, Chirori visited nursing homes and care facilities.
Even when the elderly and children treated her roughly, Chirori always
assisted Othem patiently.

One elderly woman who Chirori met could not speak or move wel1. @She just

sat in her wheelchair and ignored Chirori. For several days, Chirori kept making
eye contact with her. At last, the woman called to her, “Chi ro ri."
Wagging her tail, Chirori licked the woman's hand. The woman tried to touch
Chirori, but her arm did not move. After working hard in her physical therapy,
however, she was able to pat Chirori's head. The woman's eyes were filled with tears.
Though Chirori was once abandoned by humans, she learned to trust and
help Othem thanks to Oki. Chirori passed away in 2006, but many therapy
