Life on earth began in water, billions of years ago, and water sustains all life today. It cycles about endlessly, from rain to streams, from streams to rivers and from rivers to the seas. Sea water rises to the atmosphere as water vapor, then forms clouds in the cooler air and falls to earth again as rain. 例えば、冒頭の例 Life on earth ... Life(on earth) began (in water), billions (of years) ago, S M Vi M そして 水は の生命を維持しているすべての生物 今日 and water sustains all life today.

Last year, 4.2 million babies died. That is the most recent number reported by UNICEF of deaths before the age of one, worldwide. We often see lonely and emotionally charged numbers like this in the news or in the materials of activist groups or organizations. They produce a reaction. Who can even imagine 4.2 million dead babies? It is so terrible, and even worse when we know that almost all died from easily preventable diseases. And how can anyone argue that 4.2 million is anything other than a huge number? You might think that nobody would even try to argue (that, but you would be wrong. That is exactly why I mentioned this number. Because it is not huge: it is beautifully small. If we even start to think about how tragic each of these deaths is for the parents who had waited for their newborn to smile, and walk, and play, and instead had to bury their baby, then this number could keep us crying for a long time. But who would be helped by these tears? Instead let's think clearly about human suffering. The number 4.2 million is for 2016. The year before, the number was 4.4 million. The year before that, it was 4.5 million. Back in 1950, it was 14.4 million. That's almost 10 million more dead babies per year, compared with today. Suddenly this terrible number starts to look smaller. In fact (2)the number has never been lower. Of course, I am the first person to wish the number was even lower and falling even faster. But to know how to act, and how to prioritize resources, nothing can be more important than doing the cool-headed math and realizing what works and what doesn't. And this is clear: more and more deaths are being prevented. comparing the numbers. (3). We would never realize that without

The reason for this is that *inales *call out to the *females during mating season. Each male tries to call *louder than others. After mating, one female can lay about 600 eggs in trees. When the eggs fall to the ground, baby cicadas are born. Soon after that, they go under the surface of the earth for food. They aig about 60 cm deep and stay underground until the spring of their 17th year. Then, they are able to mate. That spring, the young cicadas come to the surface and then shed their skins to become larger. This is called 6 molting. Molting changes them into adults which are able to fly around, mate, and lay eggs. But soon after mating and laying eggs, they die. The young cicadas dig into the earth and appear again another 17 years later. So, the cycle (r ) again. In 1970, one 17-year cycle group of periodical cicadas came to a university during the graduation ceremony. A famous musician was giving a speech at that time. When periodical cicadas are in mating season, millions of them appear above ground. They appear in large numbers for two reasons. The first reason is that all of them cannot be eaten by birds and other insects. The second reason is that they can easily find and mate with other cicadas. 99% of their lives are spent underground. They can live above ground for only two weeks. They are one of the insects with the longest lives, but scientists don't understand Acicadas know it is the B to go up to the surface.
