In 2015, another survey asked 15-year-old students in
48 countries and regions about their life satisfaction.
They answered on a scale of 0 (not satisfied at all) to 10
(completely satisfied). Look at the table.

Japan's score was 6.80.
This was well below the
average of 7.37. Japan ranked sixth to last. Other Asian
students also showed low levels of life satisfaction.
Asia, there are many places where society emphasizes
academic results. This social pressure may explain the
lower satisfaction of Asian students.
In contrast, the scores were generally high in
Northern Europe, including Finland. These countries ar
