英熟語send forの意味が〜を呼ぶなのですが、しっくりきません。sendは送る、行かせるというようにどちらかといえば逆の意味になるため。いい覚え方や、イメージの仕方はありますか？

ネクステの840番に【send for A】「Aを呼びにやる」と書いていたのですが「= Aを呼びに行く」という解釈であっていますか？

send for Aなんですけど呼びにやるってどういう意味ですか？言い換えとかあったら教えてください
